Clarks CEO Jonathan Ram has just been reelected as Chairman of the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) board of directors. This election is sure to have a huge impact on the future of the sports and fitness industry.

Jonathan Ram: A Footwear and Fashion Veteran

Jonathan Ram is no stranger to the US footwear and fashion industry. Last March, he took the reins of Clarks as their new CEO, following a successful stint as the Group President for Global Activewear of Hanesbrands, Inc. Before that, he logged 16 solid years of service with New Balance as the EVP for their North American unit.

Re-Elected & New Members of the SFIA Board

In addition to Ram, SFIA has re-elected three other board members, namely BSN Sports president & CEO Terry Babilla, Adidas’ associate general counsel & VP of government affairs Kurt Tandan, and Rawlings Sporting Goods’ CEO Mike Zlaket.

Moveover, three new additions to the SFIA board have recently been announced. These include:

• Technogym’s SVP of marketing Isabel Coscia
• Implus LLC’s Chief Digital Commerce & Brand Development Officer Ryan Cruthirds
• Asics North America’s President & CEO Koichiro Kodama

The election took place on December 14, 2023 and these new and re-elected board members will be serving a three-year term, from 2024-2026. Beginning from January 1, they will be joining the 13 current board members. The latter list includes prominent names such as Brooks’ president & COO Dan Sheridan, New Balance’s Vice President in charge of Sports, Footwear & Apparel Creation Ray Hilvert, and Nike’s VP of North America government & public affairs Jennifer Bendall.
